The department offers several major and minor programs in Geological Sciences for students with a variety of career goals. The programs below are ideally suited to prepare students for graduate study, jobs within geological science and environmental geoscience, and teaching. For students interested in graduate study or careers within geological science, we recommend the B.S. in Earth Sciences with a Geology or Environmental Geoscience Concentration. For prospective elementary school teachers, we recommend the B.A. in Earth Sciences and for prospective secondary school teachers, we recommend the B.S in Earth Sciences (with no concentration). Moreover, our academic programs include the option to receive credit for undergraduate research projects, internships, summer geology field schools, and study abroad.
