The Office of Campus Recreation strives to bring students, faculty, and staff together in educational activities that promote healthy lifestyles, enhance a sense of community, foster growth in leadership and teamwork skills, and encourage the pursuit of excellence.
Intramural sports are designed to promote extra curricular activities in the form of tournaments and leagues. BSU students are passionate about flag football, softball, basketball, co-ed volleyball, wiffleball and soccer.
Special Events are programs that promote affordable fun and leisure activities. Some of these are: Cardboard Boat Races, Golf Tournaments, White Water Rafting. In November 2011, the department implemented the BSU Turkey Trot, which donates all proceeds to the Family Life Center, a family transitional housing center in Brockton, MA.
The mission of the Club Sports program is to support student run recreational opportunities. These consist of full time undergraduate Bridgewater State University students. Most of our clubs are competitive and are affiliated with national organizations.
The Thornburg Fitness Center, located in the Adrian Tinsley Center, provides members with a wide range of cardiovascular and strength equipment. Group fitness classes, trail riding, and an expanding Great Hills Trails. Each year the Fitness center offers various fitness competitions and incentive programs.
