Good health is a vital component of every student's college experience. Health is more than the absence of physical illness. Health incorporates all the components of wellness: physical, emotional, spiritual, and social concerns. At BSU Health Service, we are able to provide short-term health care for the common problems seen in college students. Our professional staff will provide you with supportive care and information whether you have a health emergency, a specific concern, or just not sure of how to take care of yourself.

Some examples of common concerns we deal with on a daily basis include (but not limited to): upper respiratory infections, headaches, muscle or orthopedic problems, physical exams, annual gynecological exams, urinary tract infections, contraception, and sexually transmitted disease screening.

Our clinical staff consists of nurses, nurse practitioners, and a physician. Should you need specialized care, we can arrange an appropriate referral. We also work with the Counseling Center to assist students in a crisis. In addition, we have excellent programming through our outreach health educator.

Our helpful and experienced support staff is also here to provide assistance and answer questions related to immunization requirements, copies of medical records, or insurance questions.

We recommend that you call the Health Service and speak to Nurse Triage so that we can match your needs with appointment availability. We will also see urgent care by walk-in but we recommend calling ahead so we can arrange the clinical schedule in order to serve you in a timely fashion.

If you have a life-threatening emergency or become ill after Health Service hours, call 911 or 1212 and the Campus Police will assist you in getting to a medical facility.
