The Lunch & Learn series are educational sessions designed to educate employees on subjects of both personal and professional interest. Each session is approximately one hour long. Bring your lunch & learn! All sessions will run from 12:00pm-1:00pm and will be located in the Library Heritage Room. Please be sure to register by filling out the registration form below.

November 9, 2011 - "Healthy Weight Guidelines" (All Employees and Students)
Presented by: Dr. Kathleen Laquale (BSU Professor) and sponsored by Outreach Education and BSU Peer Educators
Dr. Kathleen Laquale, PhD,
ATC, LAT, LDN Professor (MAHPLS Department) and Licensed Dietary
Nutritionist will discuss
guidelines to maintain a healthy weight. Each attendee will receive a
Body Mass Index Wheel. Bring your lunch and join us. A healthy dessert
and beverage will be provided.

December 7, 2011 - "Stress Reduction with Hypnosis" (All Employees)

Everyone deals with stress in different ways. If your usual stress reduction methods have not been working for you or if you are looking for an alternative, why not try hypnosis? In this interactive session, employees will learn how hypnosis can aid in stress reduction. Come with an open mind and leave with a new way of relieving stress.

January 4, 2012 - "Constructive Confrontation: Dealing with the Troubled Employee" (Supervisors and Managers)
Presented by: The Wellness Corporation
This supervisory lunch and
learn focuses on how the EAP can help supervisors deal with troubled
employees. You will learn the recommended 5-step process of:
1. Observing the employees behavior
2. Documenting those observations
3. Preparing to meet with the employee
4. Meeting with the employee, monitoring and following-up
Attendees will be
instructed on how to consult the EAP and model how to refer an employee
to the EAP
and review the dos and donts of confrontation.

This program teaches employees how to evaluate
conflicts, set the stage for conflict resolution, use
conflict resolution skills, and negotiate mutually agreeable solutions.
Skills learned in this session are helpful for both workplace conflict
and personal conflict.
