Based on the needs of the campus community, Reference Services maintains a comprehensive and current reference collection and supports information retrieval needs for library patrons. The Library offers access to over seventy electronic databases in various disciplines. With few exceptions, these databases are accessible to Bridgewater State College Faculty, Staff, and Students from off-campus. Simply enter your BSC username and password in the appropriate spaces on the off-campus login page. The Reference Collection, located on the first floor of the Library, consists of over 12,000 titles designed to provide factual information. Over 2,000 United States and Canadian government documents are also available.
Research
Reference services are available to students, faculty, staff and members of the community anytime the library is open. Reference Librarians are also available for research consultation. If you are doing extensive research please call (508) 531-1394 to arrange an appointment.
Library Instruction
The Reference Librarians offer library instruction upon request. Librarians work closely with faculty members to develop instructional sessions for individual courses. Other workshops on electronic resources are coordinated through CART and Information Services. Faculty may request instructional sessions for their classes through our online request form.
InterLibrary Loan/Document Delivery Services:
Document Delivery Services allows users to obtain materials not available at the Maxwell Library. Document request forms may be submitted electronically.
