Roland Stern

Roland began his career as a preschool, primary teacher and eventually went to Wayland where he became involved in science education at the middle school level. He is presently the SCience Curriculum Leader and in that capacity has been an inspiration and mentor to his colleagues. He is a past president of the Massachusetts Association of Science Teachers and he has presented many workshops at the local and state levels. Roland has fostered a love of science for his students through such activities as Science Olympiad, Rocketry Club, and solar energy units. To quote his colleague, "Roland's understanding of Science and children and his deep love for both have been key to the effectiveness of the program at Wayland Middle School."
