Combining creative vision, depth of feeling, and effortless virtuosity, Joshua Millard belongs to a select group of young musicians who uphold the highest standards of artistic responsibility.

His imaginative concert programs have consistently earned raves from audiences and critics alike.  Past concerts have been hailed as being “truly stunning… a tremendous display of artistry” (The Oberlin Review), as well as possessing “verve, energy… technical security and intelligence” (La Guitarra).   Recently, he was described as "a talented virtuoso… a lovely performance" (The Archway), as well as  "a musical high point of the festival" (Soundboard).

Maintaining an active performance schedule, he has appeared in concert across the United States, including auspicious guest appearances at the Oberlin Conservatory, MIT, The Eastman School of Music Summer Guitar Festival, Southeastern Guitar Congress, and Boston’s historic King’s Chapel.   As a soloist, he has been featured with the Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble and the Dedalus New Music Ensemble.  In addition, he recently performed Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez with the University of Maryland Repertory Orchestra.  

Joshua Millard holds a doctorate in Guitar Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music, and currently serves on the faculties of Bridgewater State College, Stonehill College, and the Joy of Music Program.  He was fortunate to have studied with some of the greatest names in guitar, including Nicholas Goluses, Stephen Aron, and Richard Savino.  In addition, he has performed for several world-renowned artists, including Roland Dyens, Paul Galbriath, David Russell, Raphaella Smits, David Tanenbaum and John Stowell. Joshua Millard currently resides in Providence, RI.
