A. Douglas Wauchope, trombonist, has performed with the Boston Symphony, the Boston Pops and Esplanade Orchestras, the Boston Opera Company, the Handel and Haydn Society, and the Boston Ballet, the Portland, Springfield, Rhode Island Philharmonic and other region orchestras.  He has performed with Erich Leinsdorf, Arthur Fiedler, Charles Dutoit, Andre Previn, Leonard Bernstein, Seiji Ozawa, Pierre Boulez, Michael Tilson-Thomas.  He has played at the Wang, Schubert, Colonial, and the Melody Tent theatres.  Mr. Wauchope taught at the South Shore Conservatory in Hingham and Duxbury for 25 years and has been frequently called upon to do master-classes for music educators in the New England area.  A retired teacher from the Hingham Public Schools where he conducted bands for 13 years, he presently teaches private lessons in Hingham, Middleboro and Bridgewater State University.  He performed this past season with the Cape Cod Symphony, the Chatham Chorale, and The Chorus of Westerly in Rhode Island.  Currently, Mr. Wauchope is bass trombonist for the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra under Jin Kim.  Recitals in 2008 include Berklee College of Music and Bridgewater State University with pianist Louis Stewart.  In the summer Doug conducts the Satuit Band, a community band which performs in Scituate, Hanover, Hingham town bandstands, as well as Linden Ponds in Hingham, Oak Point in Middleboro, and Cohasset Days during this 2008 summer season.  Doug Wauchope plays handcrafted trombones made by S.E. Shires of Hopedale, MA.
