Rebecca Wellons, saxophonist and educator, performs solo and chamber music in and around the Boston area.  She performs regularly with Chagall Performing Arts Collaborative, the Chagall PAC Saxophone Quartet, and was recently featured as a soloist with the Bridgewater State University Wind Ensemble.

Rebecca has participated in numerous premiers of music for saxophone, such as "SKIN" for tenor saxophone and marimba by Aaron Jay Myers and "Left-Handed" at the Open Theatre Project's New Works Festival, chamber ensemble works by Claudio Gabriele and Jennifer Hruska, and numerous new works for wind ensemble with The Boston Conservatory Wind Ensemble by composers such as Adam Roberts and Tolga Yayalar.  Rebecca can be heard on Cauchemar Records.

As an educator, Rebecca has eight years of experience as a public school band director and general music teacher.  She presented graduate research entitled "Creating a Student-Centered Middle School Ensemble Experience" at the 2011 MMEA Conference in Boston.  Her professional interests include cultivating student ownership and creativity.  Rebecca currently has a budding private teaching studio based in Wellesley, MA.

Rebecca earned degrees from Indiana University (BME) and The Boston Conservatory (MMEd and MM).  Her teachers have included Kenneth Radnofsky, Otis Murphy, and Eugene Rousseau.
