The music education programs at Bridgewater State University include an undergraduate concentration, a post-baccalaureate program, and an M.A.T. program, all designed to prepare musicians to be effective music educators. Each curriculum develops the studentsÂ’ musicianship and subject matter knowledge through required courses at suitable levels, addresses and examines cultural diversity, and provides training in pedagogy at multiple levels.
Music Education is allied with BridgewaterÂ’s School of Education and Allied Studies. The Department of Music works closely with the Department of Education in formulating and implementing Music Education policies and procedures which will comply with those of the Massachusetts Department of Education.
