"Northern Sovereignties" is the title of the Canadian Studies 2013 Spring Symposium, which will be held Thursday, April 18, starting at 9:45 a.m. in Maxwell Library's Heritage Room. The campus community and public is eligible to attend the morning-long symposium, which will focus on the plight of Arctic and subarctic First Nations, new areas of debate between Canada and the United States, and new possibilities for Quebec's future. Invited speakers are Dr. Marianne Stenbaek of McGill University, Dr. Adam Lajeunesse of the University of Calgary, Dr. Thierry Rodon of the Universite Laval, and Dr. David Massell of the University of Vermont. The Spring Symposium is cosponsored by the Government of Canada, the Government of Quebec, and the Middle Atlantic and New England Council for Canadian Studies.
