The Bridgewater State Observatory will resume its public viewing nights on Wednesdays during the fall and spring semesters on Sept. 12 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. During these sessions, astronomy experts and enthusiasts will be available to assist the public with finding astronomical objects through a number of telescopes on the viewing deck. During the fall, objects of interest will be Saturn, Mars, the moon, Ring Nebula, Andromeda Galaxy, Albireo, M13, Double Cluster and the Pleiades. Because inclement weather will result in the cancelation of viewing hours, those planning to attend should check an hour before on Facebook, Twitter or by calling the observatory hotline at 508.531.DARK to confirm whether the event will take place.
