Works of Linda Kindler Priest will be on display in Maxwell Library's Rare Book Room on the third floor from Sept. 3 through Oct. 31. "Linda Kindler Priest - Repousse Sculpture, Drawings and Sketches" are based on nature and meant to be worn. Each sculpture is a critical observation on our environment and to our relationship with the living world. They are developed by carefully combining imagery, textures, shapes, colors and chased surfaces, which are then finished with the selection and setting of precious stones and crystals. Each work of art is unique - created by an ancient technique in which a malleable metal is shaped by hammering from the reverse side to create low relief design. The event has been organized by the Wallace L. Anderson Gallery.
