Three floors of art comprise the 49th annual Student Exhibit, which will be held at the library through May 7.
The event is organized, set up and run by students, giving them the kind of real-world experience they need to round out their education.
“It makes them proud, not only to realize they know how to organize such an event as this, but also pride in their peer’s work and in each other,” said Mary Dondero, associate professor of art, and the faculty member working with the students on the show.
The work runs the full gamut, from paintings to mixed media to sculpture, photography, collage and more. Not only does the show feature large spaces filled with excellent work, the exhibit gives students the opportunity to showcase what they’ve learned.
“This was my first time submitting work, so it was a great opportunity for me,” said Lauren Engley of Wilbraham. “Seeing it here makes me proud.”
