Students seeking careers in the field of communications heard from alumni on the front lines as part of the annual Careers in Communication panel, held in the Maxwell Library’s Heritage Room.

The panelists described to a packed room a typical day on the job, their experiences in the field, and issues within the industry. Each also shared some words of wisdom gleaned from their internships and the working life.
Panelists were: Karen White, ’10, who works inside sales for IBM; Julie Clarke, ’11, events and communications manager at the Italian Home for Children in Jamaica Plain; Shaniece Singleton, ’11, a former TV studio intern who is currently enrolled in BSU's Master of Education program; Pat Kerrigan, ’07, general manager for Best Buy in Dedham; Liz Polom, ’12, who works promotions for Magic 106.7 in Boston; and Kathleen Lynch, ’09, director of member services for the Metro South Chamber of Commerce.
The panel was hosted by the Department of Communication Studies, Career Services and Alumni Relations.
