Thomas Koshy, professor emeritus at Framingham State University, visited campus to discuss his new book, while also speaking highly of the late Dr. Thomas Moore, to whom the textbook is dedicated.

But first, there was some problem solving.

“Math is not spectator sport,” Professor Koshy said. Proving this, he passed out graph paper so those in attendance could try their hand at a few math problems.

Call it a lesson with some real meat to it.

Twenty-two BSU students recently got a close-up look at how beef is raised when they toured a local cattle farm. 

The students visiting the Gibbett Hill Farm Company in Groton included 20 who have declared nutrition as their minor, according to Dr. Kathleen Laquale, who coordinates BSU’s nutrition minor program and is a professor in the Movement Arts, Health Promotion and Leisure Studies Department.

If the campus of BSU felt like Hollywood East as of late, that’s because the Campus MovieFest was celebrating the work of more than 500 students who participated in the annual event.

Sixteen films were screened inside the RCC ballroom, before an audience of hundreds. Among them were the four films that will represent BSU in Hollywood this July for the Campus MovieFest finale. The top films were

The 11th annual Awards for Academic Excellence ceremony hosted by President Dana Mohler-Faria took place at a dinner held in the Adrian Rondileau Campus Center. A total of 11 faculty members were recognized for outstanding academic achievement.

Sibling rivalry is a concept that has been around since the beginning. Whether it was Cain and Abel, Romulus and Remus or more recently Peyton and Eli Manning, the idea of sibling rivalry will always be a setting in any competition. For Krysta and Sadie Zbikowski, sisters who compete in cross country and track and field for Bridgewater State and Fitchburg State, sibling rivalry has nothing to do with it.

First-year students of Bridgewater State University are being given the opportunity to share their experiences regarding standardized testing.

The Massachusetts Executive Office of Education is conducting a study at several public colleges and universities across the commonwealth, the purpose of which is to help determine which forms of high school assessments are more fitting predictors of college success.

Agreement signed in Cape Verde

News & Events

A contingent of visiting officials from BSU, including President Dana Mohler-Faria, signed an agreement with the Cape Verde Ministry of Culture. The purpose of the agreement is to promote international cooperation and support for the mutual benefit of both parties, and to expand the dissemination of Cape Verdean history, culture and experience to a larger international audience. 

‘Led’ to a Future (Video)

Miriam Montiero is a Cape Verdean native and Brockton resident intent on exposing the high amounts of lead in locally available children’s items.

Ms. Montiero will continue her research as a post-graduate assistant at Yale University. Watch this video to learn more about her work.
