The fourth annual Career Exploration Conference was a half-day event that included speakers, tours, discussion stations and networking all dealing with STEM-related jobs.

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math, and the conference brought together a wide range of local companies who develop products in these fields.

“Celebrating Our Journey” was the theme of a gala dinner sponsored by the Afro-American Alumni Association at its 25th anniversary celebration, held in the Campus Center Ballroom. 

Established in 1990, the association’s membership has grown to more than 700 alumni, and the event took time to honor those who have helped along the way.

What’s cooking at BSU? Professor Michael Kocet’s Culinary Therapy course for one thing.

The graduate-level class teaches students about the ways cooking and sharing a meal can bring people together. 

Held in the kitchen of the Davis Alumni Center, this special hands-on session begins with a lecture by Dr. Kocet, associate professor of counselor education, but heats up pretty quickly thereafter.
