'Still Waters' Presentation

The Department of Theater and Dance presents its Lab Theater production of Still Waters Run Deep: Voices from Spoon River, directed by Jim Quinn, on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. in the Rondileau Campus Center. Tickets are $15 for the general public; $10 for students with a valid  ID, seniors and members of the military. Contact the box office at or call 508.531.1321 for more information and reservations.

Aviation Safety Seminar

Lt. Col. (Ret.) Gary Cooke, chairman of National Business Aviation Association's Bird Strike Working Group and FAASTeam member, will discuss how wildlife hazards are an increasing risk to aviation on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m. in the Maxwell Library's Lecture Hall, Room 013. His presentation, made possible by the Bridgewater State University Chapter of the Flight Safety Foundation, will cover the threat that exists today and how it is increasing.

Evening Degree Webinar

News & Events

The Office of Continuing and Education is offering a Webinar for the university's Evening Program on Wednesday, Dec. 11 starting at 6 p.m. Learn about the university's nine undergraduate evening degree programs, the admissions and transfer process and more. The Webinar is a seminar delivered via the Web through a video and audio presentation. Viewers may submit their questions and comments by text during the presentation.

Treats Galore

The FAM for Change program hosted the annual Halloween for Hunger event, where participants and other students went Trick or Treating not for candy but for donations to a local food bank. The National Day on Writing was celebrated on campus and around the U.S. BSU students read their work, and explored new ways to write using technology. The day also included as writing exercises and a banned books display. The annual event is sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English. Students, staff and faculty learned firsthand about filmmaking when four faculty members shared their experiences behind the camera. Participating in the Filmmaker Roundtable were Professors Diana Fox, James Moore, John Mulrooney and Magaly Ponce. They have served as film and video producers, directors, screenwriters, and editors. ‘Facing’ Life

When Hilary was twenty-two years old, she purchased a one-way ticket to Singapore. She left home with just one suitcase, a love for Asian culture, and a determination to succeed. The author of One White Face came to campus to share her story and the importance of working toward success as a minority in a new environment.
