The Earth Sciences department has been renamed the Department of Geological Sciences.
Reorganization
The Economics department has been transferred from the Ricciardi College of Business to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
The Office of Institutional Communications has been reorganized and integrated into the division of University Advancement. University Advancement is now comprised of the following departments: Office of Publications, Office of Advancement Services, Office of University News, Office of Development and Office of Alumni Relations.
Executive Level Changes
Mr. Bryan Baldwin has been named Acting Vice President for University Advancement and Strategic Planning. Dr. Brenda Molife has been named the new Chief of Staff. Dr. Michele Wakin, has been named Executive Assistant to the President. Dr. Sabrina Gentlewarrior has been named Director of the Office of Institutional Diversity. Frederick W. Clark (‘83), Executive Officer for the Council of Presidents of the Massachusetts State Universities (2002-2006; 2008-present), will be joining the Bridgewater State University community as the Executive Vice President and Vice President for External Affairs, effective November 1, 2011. It is with sadness that we note the sudden passing of Dr. Edward Minnock, Vice President of External Affairs.
Completed Construction on Campus
Phase one of the Conant Science & Mathematics Center is now complete. Phase one includes construction of a new 171,000 square-foot addition. The demolition and renovation to a portion of the existing building has begun and will be completed in July 2012. All phases will be completed by fall 2012.
Hunt Hall has been expanded with a 3,200 square foot addition
to be used by Art programs.
Construction In-progress on Campus
Construction of a new parking garage on the west side of campus near the tennis courts has begun. Construction is estimated to be complete by the spring semester in 2012.Learn
