Portfolios of Excellence (POE) - An opportunity for new students to get started right!

This year a brand new program, Portfolio of Excellence or POE for short, offers 100 first year students the opportunity to get started early on the path to involvements that support their academic, personal and career goals. The program offers the chance for new students to work with both a faculty/staff mentor and a peer mentor to set goals and make decisions about how to spend time in ways that are most likely to help in achieving established goals, ranging from meeting other students to making the Dean's List to building a strong resume.

Each student in POE will be placed in a small group with 19 other first year students and work both in the group and individually with mentors. This is a pilot program, and only 100 new students will be selected to participate. If you think your son or daughter would benefit from having a mentor this fall,  please encourage  him or her to apply for this program. The interest form can be found at the

IN Network website

The program is designed to fit with a variety of schedules, and we strongly en-courage commuters to consider joining this program so they can become involved with others on campus.  For more information, visit the website: http://www.bridgew.edu/InstDiversity/Project_Compass/poe.cfm
