Students should immediately begin to make appointments with their advisers to develop their course schedule. Since many departments set aside specific days and times for registration advisement, you should contact your major department well in advance of registration for an appointment. Waiting until the last minute may mean you will not be able to meet with your adviser before your scheduled preregistration date. First-semester freshmen have been assigned an adviser through the Academic Achievement Center. Most other degree-seeking undergraduate students have been assigned an adviser through their major department.
To locate the name of your adviser:
Each semester, all degree-seeking undergraduate students must obtain adviser approval before they may register. Double majors are required to meet with and obtain the signatures of both major advisers on their Registration/Academic Advising Form. Students must bring a Registration/Academic Advising Form to their advising appointment; as well as a printout of the degree audit. The Registration/Academic Advising Form is available online at www.bridgew.edu/registration.
All students should be sure to list their course selections, with alternate choices, and obtain your adviser's signature on the form. NOTE: Faculty advisers must enter an adviser approval code on the Banner Student System to clear each advisee for Web registration. Once adviser approval is obtained, students may register via the Web or in-person.
Please Note: In general, faculty advisers are not available during the semester break or summer. Because advising is required prior to registration, it is strongly recommended that you obtain adviser approval before the semester break to avoid delays in registering for classes.
