Spring Break Closing Information

The residence halls will close for Spring Break on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 5 PM and will reopen on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 1 PM. The first meal served in the dining halls on March 17th will be the evening meal. Students should take everything they will need during the break with them, as they will not have access to the residence halls over break. During Spring Break, Residence Life and Housing Staff will inspect rooms for health and safety reasons. Students interested in applying for break housing may find further information on the break housing section of our website.  Please note: students DO NOT have to take all of their belongings with them during the break.

Before leaving for spring break resident students should...

  • Take home any valuables. We cannot take responsibility for anything left in the building during the break.
  • Remove their cars from campus during the break.
  • Unplug all appliances (except refrigerators and fish tanks).
  • Turn their thermostats down to 55 degrees, or the lowest setting.
  • Remove all trash and dispose of it properly. All rooms/suites/apartments should be left clean.
  • Close and lock all windows.
  • Leave shades pulled down halfway.
  • Lock and close their room/suite/apartment door.
  • Print, complete and sign the checklist (on the appropriate form linked below) for their room/suite/apartment and tape it to the doorframe.
