Theme Housing

The Theme Housing – Pilot Program offers upper-class residents the opportunity to create a living environment dedicated to a common purpose. Students who reside in this exciting housing option will be expected to contribute to the overall community through programming efforts within the hall. Each community will have a set of standards that outlines what level of involvement is required for participants. These community standards, as well as programming efforts, will be reviewed twice a semester at meetings with Residence Life and Housing Staff.

These communities will be housed in Weygand Hall.

 

The following requirements must be met if you choose to apply for Theme Housing:

  1. Students apply in groups of 6, 12, 18 or 24. All members must be current on-campus residents, who have submitted their housing deposit.
  2. Each group must designate a Student Coordinator who will act as spokesperson for the group.
  3. Each group must have a BSU Faculty or Staff Member who will serve as a sponsor of the group.
  4. Each group must have a clearly stated mission, goal, or purpose.
  5. Each group will be required to present at least 2 programs per semester that will benefit the residence hall community.

 

How to Apply:

  • Choose the Theme Housing option in MyHousing when submitting the Residence Hall License Agreement.
  • Complete the Theme Housing Application during the "Special Lotteries Application period" (March 25-29th) at the following website: www.bridgew.edu/rlh/room_selection/theme_ap.cfm
  • Complete one Application per group
  • Student Coordinators must interview with RLH staff on Friday, April 5th (time TBA)
  • Groups will be notified if they have been selected for Theme Housing on April 8th
  • Theme Housing will be part of the "Special Lotteries on Friday April 19th
