Information for Prospective International Students

Students applying for admission to a graduate program, who will come into this country on an F1 visa, will need to provide the following documents along with the completed application and application fee:

  • Certified bank/financial statement attesting to the fact that funds in the amount of $16,449.00 are available specifically for educational expenses for the first year of attendance.
  • TOEFL Scores if necessary in accordance with English language skills.
  • GRE or GMAT Scores are dependent on program. All students that currently possess a Master's degree are exempt from this requirement.
  • SEVIS fee (Please be sure to read the important changes implemented July 1, 2004 by the Department of Homeland Security).
  • Transcripts - Official documents with baccalaureate degree conferral. Please obtain a translation and credential evaluation of your undergraduate transcript degree in English in order to determine whether your degree is equivalent to a bachelor degree in the United States. Listed below are credential evaluation firms located in the United States. Please visit their websites to determine which firm you wish to conduct your credit evaluation.
  • Three Letters of Recommendation - Please obtain two recommendations from prior professors and one from a professional employer. Candidates applying for the MSM program only need two recommendations.
  • Visa Clearance Form - This form must be completed by transfer students before an I-20 is issued.

Students accepted into a graduate program must register for classes before their arrival into the United States. Graduate students must be enrolled in 9 credits for both the fall and spring semester in order to maintain full-time status.

Before the first day of classes, students must report to the School of Graduate Studies office with their passport, visa and I-94. Students must also provide a copy of their immunization records. At least one dose of mumps and rubella vaccines; two doses of live measles vaccine given at least one month apart or after 12 months of age and after 1967; Hepatitis B series; Meningococcal Vaccination and; a booster dose of TD within the last ten years is required.

Tuition and fees for a three-credit graduate level course is $905.40 Admitted students are required to have medical insurance. If you do not have an embassy approved medical insurance plan, you will have to purchase the plan provided by the college. The cost of this plan is estimated at $1,017.00 per year.
