STREAMS is a five-year, $1 million, NSF-funded STEP Grant designed to help more students graduate with science or mathematics degrees from Bridgewater State University. Grant activities are underway and include a summer bridge program for incoming first year students, curricular changes in introductory courses, a mentoring program for new students, improved transfer advising, and piloting of Structured Learning Assistance.

Science and Math Faculty Development
Spring 2012

STREAMS, the College of Science and Mathematics, and the Office of Teaching and Learning are working together to bring several professional development opportunities to faculty interested in improving or developing new courses or teaching strategies.

First, Dr. Chris Bauer from the University of New Hampshire Department of Chemistry, will be leading a workshop on Feb. 9, 2012 on guided inquiry learning. Faculty may also schedule a personal class consult with Dr. Bauer. Please contact Dr. Thomas Kling for more information.

STREAMS will also continue to host the "Open Classroom Project" - giving faculty a structued opportunity to visit each others classes.
