Faculty can post handouts and multimedia content, receive assignments, post student grades, hold asynchronous and synchronous discussions, organize group space for collaborative projects and more. Bridgewater is currently using the Moodle and Blackboard Learning Management Systems.
Bridgewater stands ready to include current technologies into the classroom environment and beyond. In an effort to develop and prepare our future teachers to function effectively within a society influenced by diversity and accelerated change, Bridgewater State University College of Education and Allied Studies (CEAS) has implemented an iPad Initiative into the student curriculum. The iPad meets a number of specific curricular needs that the school has identified for its students in the 21st century. In particular, the iPad offers students:
- Improved learning opportunities with personalized instruction and anytime, anywhere access
- A standardized communication platform for all students, faculty and staff
- Reduced costs with digital textbook options, apps and other digital materials
- More active and collaborative based classrooms and learning environments
