2011-2012 Student Affairs Divisional
Assessment Committee

The Student Affairs Assessment Committee assists the division in developing an assessment agenda and in conducting assessment and evaluation projects that provide evidence of student learning as a result of student affairs programs and services. The committee's primary goals for this year are to continue divisional work begun in 2010-11 to create program maps linking unite initiatives to learning goals and outcomes, to assist in preparation for the 2012 NEASC accreditation visit, and to work towards establishing a culture of assessment within the division.

Specific areas of focus for 2011-2012 will include:

  • Assist departments in planning assessment efforts, both in the short and long term

  • Continue program mapping efforts designed to align unit programs and outcomes with the division's student learning goals

  • Establish a divisional approach to assessing some common outcome areas across departments, i.e., communications,
     leadership, etc

  • Assess divisional needs for training and professional development around assessment.
