Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges

About the National Program

Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges is a national honors program that recognizes outstanding campus leaders annually for their scholastic and community achievements. Benefits of this program include eligibility for a Who's Who scholarship, access to a reference service maintained as a complimentary service to students seeking employment, name published in Who's Who edition and a worthy accomplishment to include on one's resume. This honor is conferred by more than 2,842 colleges in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, and is symbolized by the presentation of an award certificate.

Selections to Who's Who Among Students are made each fall by individual schools. Campus nominating committees, created to nominate the upper-classmen eligible for the program, are composed of representatives from the faculty, administration and student body. The guiding principle behind this program is to aid campuses in honoring students who demonstrate consistent excellence through their academic endeavors and contributions to the community.

Who's Who at BSU

Each year a select group of  students from the graduating class are honored through selection to Who's Who Among Students. The criteria for this award, established by Bridgewater State University, honors students for their outstanding scholastic and cocurricular achievements.  It is the charge of the college screening and selection committee, comprised of faculty, staff and students, to identify eligible seniors based on the criteria outlined in the Mission Statement. This is accomplished at BSU through a nomination and application process that takes place in the fall semester with committee review and selection completed in the spring semester.

Students may only receive this award once; therefore, individuals selected for this recognition in 2011 (doc) are not eligible. There is no financial commitment required by the students.  Nominees will appear in the this year's edition of Who's Who, but have no obligation to purchase this publication. Students selected for this honor are presented with a certificate by the university's president at the Student Affairs Awards Ceremony held during Honors Week in the Spring.
