About Hong Kong Institute of Education

The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd) is the only University Grants Committee funded institution dedicated solely to the upgrading and professional development of teacher education in Hong Kong.

In October 1997, the Hong Kong Institute of Education moved to its new campus in Tai Po. The campus includes the HKIEd HSBC Early Childhood Learning Centre and the HKIEd Jockey Club Primary School, founded on the campus in 2001 and 2002 respectively,.

After years of intensive upgrading and continuous developments, the Hong Kong Institute of Education currently provides doctoral, master's, undergraduate degrees, post-graduate diplomas, certificates and a range of in-service programs to a student body of approximately 7,000

The academic programs reflect the integration of subject knowledge with pedagogy and teaching skills, and the academic planning processes ensure that the programs meet and respond to the future needs of teachers.

The Exchange

Each semester two students will be selected to participate in this exchange. While at HKIEd students will  take one course on Hong Kong History and Culture, and four elective courses of their choice. There are over 90 courses to choose from, to view all of them click here .   All courses for exchange students are taught in English, Chinese language ability is not a requirement for the exchange.

Costs

Students selected to participate in this program will pay tuition and fees to Bridgewater State College, and pay only room and board to HKIEd.
