and Literacy Skills Test General Information |
All candidates for provisional and provisional with advanced standing certification must attain a passing score on the Literacy and Communication Skills and the Subject Test sections of the Massachusetts Educator Test. The Literacy and Communications Skills section of the test contains reading and writing components. The Board of Higher Education has recommended that this section of the test be taken at the end of the sophomore year. BSC anticipates that students seeking admission to Professional Education after September 1, 1999 must have a passing score on that section of the test. This material was created by the Teacher Test Task Force at BSC to prepare students to take and pass the Literacy and Communications Skills section of the MECT. This guide will take you through self-assessments, a list of resources available to you, an explanation of the individual parts of the exam with strategies and sample questions, and a Timed Practice Test. |
