Test Counselors

Lori and Linda are available in the Reading and Writing centers weekdays. These two test counselors deal specifically with test takers. Bring in your self-assessments, summaries, compositions, definitions, dictations, and sample tests for additional help.

The Reading Center

Experienced teachers who are full-time graduate students in Education staff this center in room 101 of the Maxwell Library. They provide academic support, tutoring, and assistance in studying, organizing, and managing academic tasks. They can also help you organize a study group.

9:00am-4:00pm

The Writing Center

This center in room 102 of the Maxwell Library (Academic Advising Center) provides resources for academic writers in addition to peer counselors to help with papers and essays. They offer one-on-one consultations about any kind of writing in a relaxed atmosphere. M 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

W 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Strategy Workshop: Test Prep

This workshop is designed to help you prepare for the test. Information includes strategies for practicing definitions, summaries, and compositions. You will also gain insight into how to prepare for the grammar sections of the exam.

Strategy Workshop: Test Taking

This workshop offers techniques for mastering the material, making the most of your time, and managing stress levels. Questions like "should you guess," and "how can you maximize your time" will be answered.

TTIPS (Teacher Test Intensive Preparation Seminar)

Seminars feature down to earth, hard-hitting strategies, and practice techniques that participants can use to better prepare for the Massachusetts Teacher Communication and Literacy Test.

Short (6 week) Seminar $150.00

Full (10 week) Seminar $250.00

Test Anxiety Workshop

This workshop is designed to relieve anxiety induced by high stakes testing situations.
