Hart and Burnell Halls

BSU has an outstanding reputation for preparing and graduating exemplary educators across three centuries. While BSU has diversified and broadened its offerings enormously since its inception, teacher education continues to be a pillar of this institution.

The College of Education and Allied Studies, which provides comprehensive teacher preparation to students in more than 15 concentrations, continues to advance educational theory and practice while serving as a learning model for other institutions throughout the United States. Among the school's notable strengths is its thorough integration of leading technology with advanced teaching techniques and practices.

BSU's teacher education field placement system includes numerous school districts and collaborative arrangements with human services agencies throughout the region. As a student, you'll observe and work within the field beginning your very first year.

The College of Education and Allied Studies is located in Walter and Marie Hart Hall, which adjoins the Moakley Center and Burnell Hall. College classrooms and faculty offices for several academic departments are located here.

Formerly a K-6 elementary school, Burnell Hall is currently undergoing renovation and will be used as classroom and faculty space at a later date.
