The Undergraduate Review Submission Guidelines
SUBMISSION CHECKLIST

  1. ______All submissions MUST be saved as MSWORD docs. NO OTHER FORMAT IS ACCEPTABLE.
  2. ______Submissions longer than 16 double-spaced pages will not be published. Submissions must be double-spaced. The Undergraduate Review staff reserves the right to revise your work for publication. Submissions must be in Times New Roman font. Submissions in other fonts will not be read.
  3. ______Use bold and italics where appropriate. NO OTHER FORMATTING IS PERMITTED. Submissions with other kinds of formatting (columns, drop caps, alternate fonts, headers/footers) will not be accepted.
  4. ______Submissions must use endnotes rather than footnotes if notes are required in the essay. No footnotes will be published.
  5. ______Works cited/consulted must be included with your submission. Use the citation format required by your faculty mentor and/or discipline (MLA, APA, Chicago, etc). Your works cited page/s are considered part of your pagination, not in addition to the 16 maximum allowed.
  6. ______Your name  SHOULD NOT appear ANYWHERE in the submission. If your name appears on the document it will be returned to you unread.
  7. ______Please save your MSWord file as the following: YOURNAME_TITLE OF YOUR SUBMISSION.doc. For example: "John_Doe_America Then and Now.doc,"or "ane_Smith__Hydroamination_of_Alkynes,_Enynes,_and_Dienes_ Using_Titanium_Catalysts.doc"  
  8. ______Only one submission per yearly volume may be submitted per applicant. If multiple submissions are received, only the first one received will be given consideration.
  9. ______Click here to complete the submission form and to upload and send your submission file. You must fill out the submission form in its entirety before you attach your file. NOTE: Submissions sent with incomplete forms will be returned unread.

CHARTS & GRAPHS: Please make careful note of the following instructions for including charts and graphs in your submission.

·         Create and save charts & graphs in either Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, MS WORD, MATH type. Other software is transferable. Contact Stacy Nistendirk at snistendirk@bridgew.edu if there is a program you would like to use to find out if it is suitable.

·         Please include all data points for each chart & graph separately and in addition to the actual chart or graph. Please identify which points correspond to which chart or graph.  Charts & graphs MUST NOT BE *color dependent. The Undergraduate Review will only run charts & graphs understandable in black and white, or grayscale.

·         No more than six charts or graphs per submission will be published.

 

TABLES: Tables should be created and saved in MSWord.

 

PHOTOS & GRAPHICS: Please make note of the following instructions for including images in your submission.

·         Photos can only be accepted in digital format saved as JPEG files. Photos submitted any other way will not be used.

·         Screen Shots are acceptable as JPEG files. For more information on taking screen shots, contact Stacy Nistendirk at snistendirk@bridgew.edu

·         Photos and graphics must be high-resolution. If you submit a low resolution image, the editorial staff reserves the right not to run images that will not reproduce at a high enough quality.

·         Images taken from the internet are not acceptable for publication due to their low resolution.

·         The Undergraduate Review will convert color images to black & white, or grayscale.

 

-By submitting, the authors grant The Undergraduate Review permission to publish their work. However, authors retain all other rights. The text[s] published in The UR are the property of the individual contributors and may not be reprinted, or duplicated, without their consent.
