Navigating Your Virtual Orientation Experience

1. Complete Your Crimson & White Beginnings

  • It's time to dive in and explore Bridgewater State University as a new bear.
  • Crimson & White Beginnings is PART 1 of your virtual orientation experience.
  • Access Crimson & White Beginnings today
  • Please note: When you log in, the username is case sensitive. For example, JDOE@student.bridgew.edu is different than jdoe@student.bridgew.edu.

2.  Advising & Registration (Part 2)

  • 2a. Watch Recorded Pre-Advising Workshops (PAW)

    • By watching the recorded PAW sessions you will learn about important tools for registration that will prepare you to select your courses. These PAW sessions can be easily accessed on the orientation website.
    • We strongly recommend completing your Crimson & White Beginnings prior to attending PAW to best prepare you for this step.
  • 2b. Complete your Advising and Registration

    • Be on the lookout for an Advising Welcome email from the Academic Achievement Center (academicachievement@bridgew.edu). This important information will contain your placement information, recommended courses to register for, resources so you can begin to register on your own, and a link to schedule your required 1 on 1 advising appointment with an academic advisor. IMPORTANT: PAW must be complete prior to your advising appointment.
    • Follow the instructions in your Advising Welcome email to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor and register for classes. If you have questions about which courses to register for, that is ok! Do your best and write down questions you would like to ask your advisor when you meet.
    • Attend your advising appointment. During this 1 on 1 appointment your advisor will review your schedule, help you to make any necessary adjustments, and answer questions for you.

3. Attend Crimson & White Day

  • The Bear community is awaiting your arrival!
  • Crimson & White Days is PART 3 of your virtual orientation experience that connects you to your fellow classmates, BSU student leaders and the greater BSU community.
  • Crimson & White Days is a virtual program that takes place on January 12 from 1-3:30 p.m. You will receive an email with the link in early January.

4. Attend Bear Essentials for Academic Success

  • Bear Essentials for Academic Success is PART 4 of your virtual orientation experience. You will meet your Advisors in the Academic Achievement Center to learn about your BSU degree requirements, what to expect in your first semester, academic supports available to you, and tips on succeeding in online & hybrid courses.
  • Bear Essentials for Academic Success will be held virtually on January 20. Two times will be offered for your convenience. You can choose to attend from 10:00-11:00am or 2:00-3:00pm.
  • No need to RSVP! Event links will be emailed to your BSU account one week before the event.
