It's time for you to dive in and explore Bridgewater State University as a new bear. Transfer Beginnings will assist you in learning more about the BSU campus and will also explore how to register for your courses. Be sure to follow Transfer Beginnings to the very end as you will then be prompted to sign up for your Transfer Advising Workshop. Please click the following the link to access Transfer Beginnings.

Note: If you are unable to attend a workshop due to availability or transportation challenges, please register for the January 18th Transfer Advising Workshop (using the link above). Once completed, you will receive a registration PIN, located in your Student Profile.

If you would like to connect 1:1 with a transfer advisor, you may arrange an in-person, phone call or virtual appointment with one of our transfer advisors:

If your last name falls within N-Z, please connect with Lauren Kelly at https://calendly.com/lauren_kelly.

4. Register for your courses

The Transfer Beginnings Online Orientation Program taught you how to register for your courses using the online registration system called InfoBear. If you've registered for your Transfer Advising Workshop, you should now have a registration PIN, which can be found in your Student Profile. Your PIN will allow you to register. The sooner you register for classes, the more options you will have in selecting courses that meet your scheduling needs. Please attempt to register for all of your courses prior to any advising session.

Navigating Registration: To view InfoBear, DegreeWorks, and registration videos, please visit Transfer Services BridgeNet page (BSU login required). If you have the appropriate Math and English courses and/or SAT scores on file, you will not be required to complete placement testing. For more information regarding placement testing, please visit Placement Testing at BSU. If you are undecided on your major, please schedule an appointment with Career Services to explore what majors might be a good fit for your interests and career goals.

5. Course Appeals

You may have courses that transferred in as free elective credit(s), which can be found at the bottom of your DegreeWorks Audit. You may be able to appeal these credits to satisfy outstanding core requirements and/or major requirements. If you have questions regarding the appeals process, please contact Transfer Services at 508.531.2686 or TransferCentral@bridgew.edu.

6. Submit All Official College Transcripts

If you have not already done so, send all final official transcripts from previously attended institutions to the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Accurate placement testing requirements, transfer credit evaluations, and degree audits cannot be determined until these documents have been received and processed. If you took any AP exams in high school, and scored a 3+, please request an official score report be sent directly from CollegeBoard. If you have military credit, please request an official Joint Services Transcript.

7. Financial Aid

BSU has financial aid that will assist you in financing your education. If you plan to apply for financial aid, please complete the 2022-23 FAFSA and be sure to add Bridgewater State University school code 0021830. Please note if you are waiting for your FAFSA to process, please continue your course registration. If you have questions or need additional guidance regarding financial aid benefits, you may find your Financial Aid Counselor contact information here.

8. Request Accommodations and/or other Related Supports (as needed)

Students with disabilities or significantly impactful diagnoses may be eligible for accommodations or other related supports through Student Accessibility Services.
