Are you still accepting applications and deposits for the Fall 2020 term?
Yes, we are still accepting both first-year applications and transfer applications. Due to the uncertainty brought on by COVID-19, we expect to continue enrolling students through the beginning of classes this fall semester.
Our office’s ability to review applications, process materials and release decisions has not been impacted as we are successfully telecommuting. Students may apply online at bridgew.edu/ugapply.
How will the limited SAT Dates Affect Fall 2021 Early Action Applicants?
The Early Action deadline of November 15 is for the submission of the application. Required documentation (high school transcripts, SAT/ACT scores, letters of recommendation, etc.) can be submitted later. For this reason, limited SAT testing dates should not deter a student from applying Early Action.
Also, BSU is test-optional. Though we highly recommend students submit standardized test scores, it is not required.
How will BSU handle the AP exams that were administered remotely during the pandemic?
Advanced Placement (AP) credit will be awarded as transfer credit as it has been in the past. AP exam scores of 3, 4 or 5 will be awarded the corresponding course credit.
How will Pass/Fail courses be looked at for future terms?
High school courses that have been graded as a PASS because of the COVID-19 disruption will be considered as meeting the required core requirement as designated.
How will Pass/Fail courses be calculated in students’ GPAs?
Passed courses will meet core requirements as designated but will NOT be used to recalculate an applicant’s cumulative grade point average.
What is the best way for families to visit campus?
BSU is offering an array of innovative options so you can safely see our beautiful campus this summer. Please see bridgew.edu/campus-tour for the latest updates about our full range of in-person and virtual visit options.
Can my acceptance be deferred to a later term?
Yes, an acceptance can be deferred for up to one year as long as you do not attend another institution. If you attend another school, you will need to reapply as a transfer student and have an official transcript sent from that school.
Orientation sessions for all first-year and transfer students enrolling for Fall 2020 will be held in a virtual format. More details are shared directly with students as they submit their deposit, indicating their intent to enroll.
Because of the economic impact this pandemic has had on all of our students and families, BSU has made the decision to freeze tuition and fees for the coming year at the 2019-2020 rates.
Students with a financial hardship who plan to attend BSU this fall semester may request the enrollment deposit be waived by emailing the Dean of Admissions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
