Throughout the year, we offer opportunities for BSU community members and regional partners to serve alongside each other during National Days of Service and annual campus events. These events aim to encourage volunteerism and enhance connections to the community.
September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance
This nationwide event was established to inspire citizens to engage in service as a tribute to all the lives that were affected on September 11, 2001. The Martin Richard Institute for Social Justice hosts an annual service event that offers meaningful ways to give back to the community and reflect on the service of others.
MLK Day of Service
Bridgewater State University honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by coming together to serve others for the greater good of the community. Each year, BSU organizes opportunities for people of all backgrounds and ages to celebrate Dr. King's legacy by turning community concerns into citizen action through volunteer projects, community dialogues, and learning opportunities.
Earth Day
Earth Day is an annual, international event held in April to demonstrate support for environmental protection. The MRISJ organizes a large, off-campus volunteer project open to all students, staff, and faculty to bring awareness and direct service to the environmental justice movement.
