Join the Minnock Institute for Global Engagement from April 20-23 for Global Engagement Week. The week’s first event is Panel on International Development and Education, Tuesday, April 20 from 12:30-2 p.m.
International development is a contested field for higher education curricula, study abroad programs, and professional careers. How can we ensure that we are preparing students and young professionals to make a positive influence in the world and avoid harming local communities? The MIGE brings scholars from three academic programs and the international development community together virtually to share their thoughts:
Gerardo Blanco, Ed.D., Academic Director of the Center for International Higher Education, Boston College; Meghan Kallman, Ph.D., Assistant Professor in the School of Global Inclusion and Social Development, U Mass Boston; Katy de la Garza, Ed.D., Academic Operations Manager of the School for International Training, SIT Study Abroad; and Raina Fox, MA, Executive Director of the Boston Network for International Development.
Moderated by Dr. Wing-kai To, Assistant Provost for Global Engagement, and Mr. Michael Sandy, Director of Study Abroad.
The event is open to the BSU community and the public. Advance registration is required. Registrants will receive a confirmation email with a link to the event.
