The work of Margaret Bellafiore, a visiting lecturer in the Art Department, will be featured in a solo exhibit, "Drawings from Performance," held at Boston's Mobius gallery through March 25.[br][br]The drawings were done over the course of the past three years as part of a monthly series Professor Bellafiore sponsors at Mobius, where the general public is invited in for "marathon" drawing sessions lasting five hours each. The subjects for the drawing sessions, and for Professor Bellafiore's exhibit, are performance artists from the Mobius Artist Group. They included sound artists, dancers and movement artists, who each improvised for about an hour at a time during the drawing sessions.[br][br]"The drawings for me were a way to connect with the energy and intention of the performer," Professor Bellafiore said. "I tried to capture that."[br][br]In addition, there will be photos and video clips taken by Professor Bellafiore from the three-year series of drawing/performance events.[br][br]A closing reception will be held Sunday, March 25, from 3 to 5 p.m.[br][br]For more information, images from the exhibit as well as hours and directions to Mobius, click [link]here|[/link].
