Communicating with Families

Welcome Parents & Family Members!

Bridgewater State University recognizes that you are a very important partner in your student's success. New Student & Family Programs (NSFP) is here to help you connect to campus and serves as an ongoing resource throughout your student's college journey.

We strive to keep families informed through this website, email communication and updates on our Facebook page. Additionally, NSFP hosts events to connect family members with the campus and the day-to-day lives of students.

Join Parent & Family Email List

We primarily communicate through email and encourage all parents to sign up by completing an online Registration Form or request to be added to the list by emailing NSFP@bridgew.edu. You will receive two online Family newsletters per semester and one in the summer. The BSU Family ENews provides timely campus information and articles about how parents can best support their college student. You will also receive invitations to participate in programs for families and students.

If you have any concerns contact us at 508.531.1840, 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, or email us anytime at NSFP@bridgew.edu.

Calendar

We host a number of programs through the year for new students and their families to connect to BSU life. Programs such as Orientation, Weeks of Welcome and Homecoming & Family Day are designed to acclimate first year, transfer and evening students to campus. The Time to Talk education series and Family Association are great resources for families to connect with their student and the BSU community. See our Calendar for a listing.

Family Ambassadors

Family Ambassadors are a coalition of BSU staff and faculty members who recognize and support the collaborative relationship with families as a positive influence on student success. The ambassadors are an excellent family resource who attend family sponsored programs such as Family Association meetings and Time to Talk sessions and contribute articles for the Family E-Newsletters.
