Academic Programs in Dance

The Dance Education Concentration (CAS5) was devised to meet the licensure requirements for teaching dance in the public schools or in the private studio sector. As Communication Arts and Sciences majors with this concentration, students may choose to make dance education a major focus of their academic program. Courses in dance theory, history, composition, and production are supplemented by a broad offering of technique classes taught by adjunct experts in the field.

The Dance Minor is a course of study designed to use dance as a complement to a major field of study. A broad assortment of theory and technique classes are designed to give students wide exposure to the art of dance.
