State University Internship Incentive (SUII)
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts supports a program for students in credit-bearing internships. If approved for eligibility, students may receive a minimum of $500 and up to $5,000 for assistance with offsetting costs directly associated with participation in an approved internship.
Employers are increasingly offering an array of exciting and beneficial internship positions to complement and reinforce academic programs as well as student success through experiential learning. SUII makes it possible for a student to consider a non-paid internship, which might otherwise present a financial hardship.
The BSU Foundation
Thanks to the commitment of our university administration and generous donations from the Bridgewater State University Foundation supporters, the University is able to offer students a chance to apply for a stipend award for their internships. The BSU Foundation stipend is intended to provide additional financial support so that students do not have to sacrifice valuable work experience for lack of financial resources. Funding is available for undergraduate students who are participating in credit-bearing or non-credit internships with the stipulation that the internship is unpaid.

As a member of the U.S. Army Reserves and a fulltime BSU student, time was always an issue and flexibility a must. The Internship Office built and funded my internship to suit my skills all while benefitting public higher education. Bridgewater State University is a step ahead in closing the achievement gap – and people recognize that.
