EarthLab is a spherically shaped digital display system that is manufactured by iGlobe. The system uses a computer and two internal laser projectors to display information on a four-foot diameter sphere. EarthLab features presentations, short films and real time data that pertain to land, oceans, atmosphere, biodiversity, astronomy, human activity and more. The datasets and visual displays are produced by BSU faculty, staff and students for research, coursework, and community outreach; by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) to increase public understanding of the environment; and by other universities and agencies developing data visualization in the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and arts.

To view presentations currently on the globe, please visit EarthLab on the first floor of the Science and Mathematics Center, or view from your own computer using the attached database. Please note that the links included in the database will direct you to the Science On a Sphere (SOS) website. Once on the SOS website, please click the “play arrow” under Media Preview on the right hand side of the page. This database will be updated frequently.
