Schedule of Spring 2023 Public Observatory Nights:
The BSU Observatory will be open to the public, weather allowing, at the following times. Please check here or on our Facebook or Twitter pages on the day of the even to see if the weather will allow it to go on!
- March 15, 22, and 29 from 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
- April 5, 12, 19, and 26 from 8:15 pm - 9:45 pm
The BSU Observatory is dedicated to educating and sparking an interest in science, particularly astronomy, in the regional community.
The Observatory hosts an active outreach program that welcomes members of the community, including but not limited to neighborhood organizations, scout troops, and K-12 classes. We hold up to four events per week at night in order to:
- Promote astronomy education, particularly for K-12 students.
- Increase astronomy awareness and interest in the region.
- Give our students the opportunity for service-learning in astronomy and education.
- Provide an astronomy resource for pre-service and in-service teachers.
