A one-day regional summit to explore the opportunities and challenges facing open education in the next five years.

Open to regional faculty members, administrators, librarians, and policymakers who are already active in this educational movement, the “Open Education in 2030” summit will be interactive, hands-on, and future oriented.
Monday, May 12, 2025 | 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. | Dunn A Conference Suite
Proudly hosted by Bridgewater State University, with support from the Davis Educational Foundation.
The summit will explore questions such as:
- What possibilities and challenges will the open ed movement face over the next five years, and what resources (staffing, training, leadership, funding, etc.) will be necessary to keep the work energized on our campuses moving forward?
- What current tactics are serving campuses well, and where might open ed adoption and training practices benefit from reimagining and reinvigoration? How do we sustain this work long-term and avoid burnout among its advocates?
- What technological considerations may help or hinder the open ed movement in the years to come, including the rapid rise of AI technologies and their transformative effect on educational practices?
- What's unique about this particular political and cultural moment in higher education, and how might this impact the future of open ed work in Massachusetts and beyond? What does effective collective open ed advocacy look like at the regional and national levels?
