Good Citizenship

Using the timeline, have students identify people/events that exemplify the following characteristics: fairness, caring, justice, and responsibility (see the MA History & Social Science Framework for more direction on defining these terms). Have students summarize how their assigned or chosen people/events model these characteristics. Teachers could specifically feature events and figures related to Native and black histories in Massachusetts.
