Shifting Lines

Using a GIF editor, have students create an animated image of the changing political border of Massachusetts, from the original territories of Native Peoples pre-1600 to present. After creating and viewing the image, have students discuss the impact of these changes on the people who have lived in Massachusetts in the past and those who live here today, particularly analyzing the process of Native territories becoming Massachusetts.
