The Master of Science in Computer Science at Bridgewater State University is intended to meet the ever-growing need for well-educated, highly skilled computer science professionals in a variety of fields. Our master’s in computer science is a unique program designed for those who have an undergraduate degree in computer science or another discipline.

Our MS in computer science is a flexible graduate degree program that will give you the option to study full time or part-time, which is ideal for working professionals.

The curriculum provides opportunities for collaborative work with our computer science faculty. As a graduate student in BSU’s MS in computer science program, you’ll learn the fundamental concepts of computing, including algorithms and data structures, problem-solving approaches and the structure of programming languages.

Program of Study for Computer Science Graduate Students

Courses for our master’s in computer science are hands on and practical, with a focus on software development projects. You may take graduate courses such as:

  • Computer Architecture: You’ll design and build computer processors on hardware using Field Programmable Gate Arrays and electronic components.
  • Robotics: You’ll construct and program artificial intelligence to do tasks such as navigate mazes, throw balls and move collaboratively.
  • Language Programming: You’ll learn sophisticated computer science programs in newer languages such as Rust, Go and Kotlin.
  • Capstone or Thesis: You will either complete a capstone project (a large software development project done with a faculty mentor) or a thesis research project that contributes to the field of computer science.
