American Sign Language II

Prerequisite: COMD 231 This course is designed for students who seek to enhance the knowledge and skills they developed in COMD231 American Sign Language I. The course helps students to refine their understanding of individual signs and short conversations. Opportunities will be provided for students to acquire new vocabulary, enhance their understanding of core grammatical features, develop their receptive and expressive language skills, and learn to sign popular ASL stories. Students will continue to learn about the etymology of signs, Deaf communities, and Deaf culture.
