Prerequisite: SPED 510 with a minimum grade of "B" or matriculation in a master's program in special education This course is designed to instruct graduate students in the background, foundational principles and instructional techniques necessary to work effectively with atypical behaviors in inclusive and/or moderate special educational settings. Students are expected to observe behaviors and their antecedents, record the behaviors and select appropriate interventions to support the successful classroom experience of students with special learning needs. This course requires approximately 30 hours of observation and project development in a moderate special education setting. Introductory background in special education is beneficial for the successful completion of this course.
